These are a few of my favourite things .....


Angels Wings ....

I love my wooden angels wings.   These are on a small wall in our lounge.  I like them as they are simple & I find them comforting. Like we have an angel watching over us.


My £3.00 bargain!
I bought this little vintage/retro fan at a car boot sale for the princely sumof £3.00!. It works perfectly & is wonderful in the summer when we need cooling down.  I must say it has a heavy base & a real avaiator feel to it.


Celery, oatcakes & cheese, beetroot, tomatoes , cucumber & houmous

As it was lovely & sunny again I made a little plate of healthy stuff & sat in the garden lapping up the suns rays.

 
I am having my hair done this afternoon cannot wait. It needs it I look like  a tumble weed!. So as it is going to take a few hours. I dug the trusty slow cooker out
In the slow cooker went!
  • 2 x tins of chopped tomatoes
  • Limp celery!
  • Courgettes
  • Leeks
  • Mixed herbs
  • Garlic (minced out of the pot)
  • 8 Pork sausages
I just browned the sausages of & then it all gets thrown in & when tea time comes its all done. I love slow cookers. Especially in winter time as you come home and the smell of casserole is wafting around.  A lot of the time you could make enough for two days

snack- 1 large orange
Lunch - oatcakes cheese,celery,tomatoes,cucumber,houmous
snack- banana
dinner- sausage casserole

Hooray sunshine!

I  went & enjoyed my swimming session.  Did my 60 up & down the pool .  When I left the pool I walked up to the town that is close by. Popped into a charity shop bought a lovely nautical striped blue top at £2.99 it was coming home with me!. I popped in to the pound shops bought some Dorset muesli X 2 ,some walnuts & a pink nivea lipstick for my mum for mothers day in just her shade.  I know mothers day is commercial!,but I am happy to spoil my mum with a couple of treats!
I caught the bus home as I did not  want to walk 4/5 miles home!especially as I have had the swimming exercise.If I had not been swimming then maybe I would have! I had a nice superfood salad for my lunch & an activia pear yoghurt (heaven in a pot!) with some strawberries. I sat in the garden at my little table & chairs in a beam of sun. Dreaming of sunny days.

I am making a real effort to eat really well( that started today!). My diet is pretty good but it really could be improved upon.  This week I am drinking no more than 3 cups of tea each day(normally its double if not more!). I would like to lose exactly 1 stone ( 14 lbs). I would like to trim down for my summer clothes. I need to stop that chocolate habbit that crept in as well as the discovery of the M&S millionaire shortbread desert which was part of the meal deal for two.   

Breakfast - Bran flakes with chopped banana
Snack      -  1 green apple
Lunch     -   superfood salad
               -   1 Activia pear yoghurt & a few strawberries  
Peckish while cooking dinner so had some small carrots & houmous
Dinner - Brocoli,carrots & spanish rice & chicken

Swimming.

My swimming bag already raring to go!
  I have just packed my swimming bag!. It is sunday evening & I have put my bag in the hallway so it motivates me to go swimming tmrow!. I love the swimming pool as it is in a hotel & the pool is heated. There is a sauna & steam room as well. I pay a monthly membership. I was cross with my self as I only managed to swim once last week. Ideally I like to go twice, sometimes 3 times depending on whats going on week to week. I do enjoy my swim but sometimes its my motivation that lets me down. When I arrive at the pool you get a big fluffy towel. I usually do 60 X up and down the pool it is not a big pool( usually takes me 45 minutes). When I come out I have a lovely power shower shampoo & condition my hair!. Body lotion is supplied. I usually put some peppermint foot lotion on. I love the way you feel so fresh when you leave the pool. This evening I am using a Botanics facial oil. I think this time of year you just want to see some sunshine. I think my skin needs a little treat.I bought this in Boots for half price .I think I paid £3.49. Still I will use some this evening. Think I will use it just on Sundays. I do not think I would like to use a facial oil everyday.
This week I am having my hair done which is a real treat .My hair is a darker brown & I am going to ask for a caramel lowlights/highlights not sure what they are called!.  Last time my hair had that was a year ago.  My hair is dark and my skin is vey pale so I feel like having a warmer shade so I do not look so pasty faced!. Also I think having your hair done makes you feel human!. I have a mobile lady visit me. My anxiety would not allow a long hairdressing salon visit. Home is ok as comfort zone!.

To do or not to do!

I really need to try & get a bit more organized with regards to stuff.  I do not usually use a "To Do" list.  I am thinking about using one now!.  I find that otherwise things whizz about in my head. I end up thinking about what I have to do rather than actually doing whatever it is that needs doing!.  Maybe I will get more satisfaction ticking jobs off!?.  Some people would probably find a to do list does does not work for them.   I need to try it out then decide wether it works.

Anxiety....

 
One thing I am trying to sort out is my problem with anxiety & low mood.  I have suffered with it quite a few years.  I have had an ongoing cause for stress for quite a few years. Probably due to the fact that I was not dealing with the things life was throwing my way.  Even more difficult when it is family related as lots of emotions are involved.  Anyway to cut a long story short I am trying to work through things.  Those things being
  • Anxiety
  • Stress relief
  • A bit of the old ups & downs
  • fatigue
  • That feeling of not being motivated  (I call it lost my mojo!)
  • I need to learn to deal with stress & problems better (at the moment I tend to cry easily)
  • Feeling like I need to learn to be positive. 
  • Its been a hard 4 years & still is to a certain extent.  I feel I want to  move forward.  I sort of ruminate & think  of the past & a source of that stress is very much the future.  Without going  into too many details a lot of how I  feel & how I have felt is down to my teenager.  From an Angel to a tearaway (enough said). When you are a loving family it is very hard to accept.
 I signed up for  http://www.getsomeheadspace.com/  an online meditation.  It really is good. I signed up for the free ten day session.  It explains things beautifully. Especially if you are a complete beginner like me!  I have just completed day 1 it does not take long. See what you think
